Ahoy,
Make way for the marching parade
A pirate comes to lead the way.
Cover yourself up ’cause there ain’t no heat,
Winter Carnival is coming down Main Street.
This Adirondack life is the life for me.

Yo, Ho, Ho
He is dressed in stipes and a vest,
With a hat, a patch, and more to match.
Ain’t no time to rest, we can see our breath
‘Cause the armada is coming, can’t you see?

Yo, Ho Ho,
It’s the King and Queen
The chosen couple to be seen.
They come on down in furs and crowns
And we give a shout as they float through town.
This Adirondack life is the life for me.

“Arrgh!”
We cheer as each pirate nears,
With chocolate coins and vibrant beads,
The only treasure for us please.
This Adirondack life is the life for me.

Yo, Ho, Ho
There’s a pirate on a bike
And another comin’ on a trike.
We sport this year’s button on our coat
Another drawing Garry wrote.
This Adirondack life is the life for me.

“Aye,”
Is all they say
Because there is no other way.
And we watch the parade
Huddled outside Blue Moon Café.
This Adirondack life is the life for me.

Yo, Ho, Ho,
It’s thirty below as the palace glows.
We stand there out in the snow
Dressed from head to toes
With no feeling in our fingers
And frostbite on our nose.
Yet, there are still fireworks for us to see.
Yes, this Adirondack life is the life for me.
