some insist a poem
must follow structure rhythm
and rhyme
but I prefer to play with words
unleash their power to elicit emotions
turn those words loose
set them free
to sashay across the page with attitude
or cascade down the paper in reckless abandon
and create a poem
with total disregard for regulation
capitalization and punctuation
