the rain came down
oh so soft, so cool
in it’s warm wet way
the land was dry
so dry it can’t cry
in joy for the rain
to feed the soil
and all the life
that is so hot, so bare
the gray is now teal
life will jump for joy
with the rain that came down
this dry, dry day
