Walking through winter grass small tunnels are seen under light snow. Follow a tunnel to a hole. Enter the hole a distance into the ground. It is well made. There is a small cavity lined with soft bits of grass and down. Curl up. It is warm here, it is safe. Sleep. There is also a small cache of food. The food is good. Life is good. There is no danger here. There is no thought of anything else. Maybe babies will be born. They are safe and life goes on.
