PoemVillage Begins. April 2. Poems posted in downtown windows in Saranac Lake.
Pocket Poetry. April 14. Hunt for poems across town! All poems are printed on postcards and scattered across the village. Will you find a poem under your coffee cup? Maybe in a book at the library? Or at your favorite trailhead? Who knows! If you want a stack of poems to hide, let us know and you can be a pocket poetry elf.
Mountain Open Mic Night. April 19 at 7pm at Dewey Mountain Lodge. Share your own writing and listen to your neighbors, friends, and locals share theirs. Hosted by Baylee Annis.
Performance Poets. April 25 at 7pm in the Pine Room at Paul Smith’s College and April 26 at 7pm in S-19 at North Country Community College.
Presented by Adirondack Center for Writing & Planned Parenthood of North Country NY. Larger than life performance poets Carlos Andres Gomez, Mahogany L. Browne, Jon Sands, and Sofia Snow will perform their work, and engage in discussion with audience members. Free and open to the public in support of national poetry and sexual assault awareness month. Optional writing workshop with poets to follow performance. PoemVillage Pub Crawl. April 27, starts at 7pm, Bitters & Bones. Enjoy poet inspired specialty drinks with friends and read poems along the way! Open to all, ages 21+.
