Wild Words: Adirondack Teen Writing Anthology is a publication of the Adirondack Center for Writing, created to give teens a venue to publish their original creative writing. Any teen (age 13-19) living in the North Country is eligible to submit writing for consideration.

What We’re Looking For:

Poetry, short stories, short memoirs, and personal essays written by teens living in the North Country of New York.

  • Poems – Submit up to 5 poems (or 5 pages of poetry).
  • Stories, essays, other – Submit up to 1,000 words max (shorter is ok).
  • All writing must be submitted in one file (Word or PDF).
  • Include a title for each piece.

Wild Words: Adirondack Teen Writing Anthology is a publication from the Adirondack Center for Writing, created to give teens a venue to publish their original creative writing. Any teen (age 13-19) living in the North Country of New York State is eligible to submit writing for consideration.

To order a copy of the 2025, 2024, or 2023 Wild Words Anthology, send us an email at info@adirondackcenterforwriting.org. Suggested donation is $5 for pickup and $9 to ship. Donations are accepted through Venmo, PayPal, check, or credit card.

How ACW Can Help

  • We have a Teen Lounge open 9AM-5PM at our Saranac Lake location where teens can write, read, and build community after school. All are welcome!

About The Project

The Wild Words anthology originated with Visiting Writer Erin Dorney’s tenure (2022-2024) at the Adirondack Center for Writing as part of the Creatives Rebuild New York (CRNY) Artist Employment Program. In 2025, the anthology will be edited by ACW program director, Tyler Barton.
