Craft a short story or poem that explores the significance of unexpected connections in life. Whether it’s a chance encounter, an unusual friendship, or a twist in a story — how do these connections influence characters or events? What lessons or insights do they bring?

All creative writing responses will be shared on @adkctr4writing and adirondackcenterforwriting.org. Note: You are expected to edit your own submission before sending it.

Roya Marsh is reading “SALT THE WATER” by Candice Iloh and “Remedies For Disappearing” by Alexa Patrick! “”SALT THE WATER” is an incredible novel in verse that centers Black, queer and GNC characters,” she says. “Cerulean’s journey offers a youth perspective and critique of insensitive and problematic educators. At the center of this tale are young people longing for liberation and preparing themselves to have it.
