Out by the pool on a summer day.
perusing Pictures that were stowed away,
I smile to myself “how I  have aged,”
imagining you still look the same
A word or thought takes me back
To a time in that very distant past.
When you were here still with me,
oh sweet sweet memories.
Was it something you used to say?
Or perhaps a very special day.
your steel blue eyes, the tilt of your head?
little things I will never forget.
A song plays that awakens the past,
You held me in your arms, We danced and laughed
Twirling around, a dip and a kiss.
Reminiscent of  how much you are missed.
In every corner of my world, In many of my dreams,
Visions of you flow…a steady stream,
Of jubilant memories.
I hold them all in my heart like a melancholy rhapsody.
Too soon the photos are returned to their sacred place,
and tenderly stored to be browsed another day.
It was a sweet sweet time spent alone with you,
Remnants of love’s residue.
