Each November, the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., offers a program featuring a Children’s Book Author. This year, award winning author Kevin Kurtz will give presentations on Thursday, November 16 to students from the Town of Webb Schools, Inlet School and home schooled students about the wonders of science, nature, reading, and writing. He is the author of several non fiction children’s books including: A Day in the Deep, A Day in the Salt Marsh, A Day on the Mountain, Uncovering Earth’s Secrets and Where Wild Microbes Grow . He has also worked as an educator for organizations such as the South Carolina Aquarium, the Science Factory Children’s Museum, and onboard the R/V JOIDES Resolution during a research expedition in the South Pacific to study ocean volcanoes.
The public is also invited to attend any of the following programs: 10:05-10:45 am (Grades 3 & 4); 12-12:30 pm (Grades K,1 & 2) 1:30-2:10 pm (Grades 5 & 6) The programs are funded by NYS Council on the Arts: the Literature Program
