We gathered round the kitchen table,
Complete with six strong chairs,
Confident we had learnt the fable
Of how a family fares.
Built from ash hewn miles away,
When furniture was built to last.
Heavy wood symbolizing structure and permanence
Surviving spilt milk, and juice, and cabernet.
Now that forty years have passed
We celebrate how our family surpassed,
And filled six chairs with love and resonance.
