The Howl Story Slam is back with an evening of live stories told online. The team behind the Howl has worked to revamp the program as it is so important to hold space for stories in a time when we can’t physically be together.

“When you’re isolated and feeling lonely, what keeps you company more than when you are hearing and sharing stories?” said Nathalie Thill, Executive Director of Adirondack Center for Writing. “I think that’s the crux of human interaction and human connection and to have an opportunity to hear and share goes a long way in feeling connected and having a sense of community and family. I think the Howl has become a home for a lot of people, so even though we’re not all together, that belonging is still present.”
Anyone is welcome to tell a true, five-minute story on the theme “Holidays: The good, the bad, the ugly” using no notes.
The first 15 storytellers to sign up will be included in the lineup. Registration required for storytellers and audience members, sign up at bit.ly/decvirtualhowl. Free to tell stories and to attend. If you are able, please please add a suggested $10 donation to your registration for the Howl team to split.
The Howl Story Slam team is a partnership between Adirondack Center for Writing and North Country Public Radio, two organizations that believe in the power of stories. To learn more about their work visit adirondackcenterforwriting.org and northcountrypublicradio.org.
