I went outside about evening time.
There was a north-wind
making the chill single digits.
An afternoon squall had dusted crusted snow
that lingers from last week.
The air was crisply fresh.
I stood in darkness
softly lite by daylight that settles in snow.
I wasn’t dressed for it.
I just got up and went out.
I stayed out till chilled.
Just to.
After a bit I came inside.
and shivered with a flush of warmth.
Oh how splendid it is
to have this life
on either side of my front door.
