There is an exciting opportunity with Creative Aging training, available to teaching artists who are interested in engaging older adults with hands-on arts instruction.
This training will be part of The New York State Creative Aging Initiative, an innovative partnership between the NYS Council on the Arts, NYS Office for the Aging, and Lifetime Arts. This 2020 pilot project will advance Creative Aging programming in three regions: the Capital Region, the North Country and Long Island. Through a series of live trainings, coaching and seed grants, the project will build the capacity of senior service organizations, public libraries and teaching artists to develop, implement and sustain high quality Creative Aging programming – hands-on arts instruction for older adults.
In each of the three targeted regions, Lifetime Arts will provide a FREE day of Creative Aging Teaching Artists Training. Each training can accommodate up to 25 teaching artists. Participating teaching artists will each receive a $50 stipend and will be eligible to teach Creative Aging programs during the pilot.
