A mixtape passed down for generations would very easily define each era. All songs have a meaning behind them. Snce mixtapes were made in the 1970s let’s start there. In the 1970s there was a lot of Disco and all sorts of Rock music. You don’t really get to hear disco music everyday in our lives anymore. In the 1980s there was a lot of pop and rock music. Some very famous artists that are still listened to today by the younger generation come from the 1980s especially Michael Jackson. The 1990s was really popular with the pop genre especially with artists like Mariah Carey. The 2000s were also heavy on pop and rap especially with Eminem. The 2010s and current time are also heavy on pop and rap. All of these decades can be defined by their music. Each decade is influenced very heavily on music and artists.
