With Obi’s departure, we’ve decided to restructure our organization and we are now officially looking for a Program Director.
ACW’s Program Director will work in collaboration with the Executive Director and Communications Manager to present quality and meaningful programs to help fulfill ACW’s mission to inspire a love of writing, reading, and storytelling.

Title: Program Director
Classification: Full-time, in-person in Saranac Lake, NY
Organization: Adirondack Center for Writing
Location: Saranac Lake, NY
Organization Description: ACW inspires the love of writing, reading, and storytelling. For over 25 years ACW has partnered with diverse individuals, organizations, and schools to promote the craft of writing and the practice of reading in our communities.
Salary: $50,000-60,000 depending on experience, plus health insurance benefits, flexible PTO
Program Director: ACW ‘s Program Director will work in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Communications Manager to present quality and meaningful programs to help fulfill ACW’s mission to inspire a love of writing, reading, and storytelling.
Responsibilities: The Program Director is responsible for designing and implementing all ACW events and programs. The Program Director will produce high-quality annual programming, as well as conceive of new programs that will help further our mission, build new audiences, and elevate our presence in the region. Program Director will also work to build relationships with ACW community members, writers we work with, and donors. Position includes working some evenings and weekends and traveling regionally. Must have a car.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate cares about ACW’s mission, has the creativity to produce exciting and interesting programs, is exceptionally organized, is collaborative in nature, and can communicate both digitally and in-person with a wide variety of populations.
Other important skills include:
· 3 years relevant arts events planning experience
· Highly collaborative style
· Excellent writing/editing and verbal skills
· Able to multi-task and is very organized
· Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including ED, staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters
· Self-starter, able to work independently; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
· Committed to helping ACW improve the lives of our region’s writers, storytellers, and readers
· Photography skills as well as knowledge of WordPress, Canva, and Mailchimp preferable but not required
