Weekly Writing Prompt:

Write about a birthday celebration that didn’t go as planned. This could be your birthday, a birthday of a friend or loved one, or even a story that took place during a national holiday-birthday, such as MLK Jr. Day or Independence day (America’s birthday).

Submit your response by Feb 5, 2023 by emailing it directly to info@adirondackcenterforwriting.org. You may copy your text into the body of an email or attach it in a word document. All creative writing responses will be shared on @adkctr4writing and on this website  Note: You are expected to edit your own submission before sending it.
Greg Barris is reading “Amor Cringe” by K Allado-McDowell, a half traditionally-written and half AI-generated "deepfake autofiction" novelette about a TikTok influencer that seeks God, created with the intention to be "as cringe as possible.” The result is a painfully self-aware series of encounters that exfoliate the repulsive and fascinating aesthetics of romantic life under social media.
