Heat AND Humidity
often up to three
digits each,
are all I can think
of summer…
plus ticks, Lyme’s Disease,
chiggers and mosquitoes,
and illnesses they carry.
Watermelon, cold,
a rare treat,
and endless garden,
with sun and sweat:
summer memories
from childhood, too long
to want to go back.
