Word as Eye: Creative Writing in Response to Visual Art
October 29 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Do you see what I see? Using David Krekman’s latest collection as inspiration, author Marilyn McCabe will lead a series of writing exercises calling on imagination, response, memory, and play. No matter what genre of writing is of interest to you, you can use these exercises to jump-start your creativity using visual art as your muse.
Marilyn McCabe’s collections of poems include Being Many Seeds, Glass Factory, Perpetual Motion and Rugged Means of Grace. Her videopoems have appeared in festivals/galleries. She blogs about poetry at marilynonaroll.wordpress.com. Her new book is a wry, irreverent writing manual/workbook called Always With the Questions: One Poet’s Writing Manual.
