The Art of Keeping a Trail Journal

Learn how and why to keep a trail journal, recording your hikes, bikes, runs, climbs, and other adventures in the great outdoors. Data-focused, filled with poetry, decorated with doodles and drawings—there’s no one way to trail journal! Participants should bring a notebook, their favorite writing utensil, and a paper or digital map. Art supplies such as markers and colored pencils are also welcome.  

Emma Grace is a rock-hopping, pond-jumping, sour-candy-eating machine that hikes at the pace of sloth who’s out for a sightseeing tour. She is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam’s creative writing program and has published two young-adult novels and written for several online publications, including AdventureOnSI and Learn.org. She lives in Potsdam with her partner, Jason, and their cat, Miles, and is on her way to becoming an Adirondack 46er.
