Adirondack Center for Writing – 15 Broadway, Saranac Lake
Instructor: Rebecca Donnelly
Goal: Students will write and edit their own creative writing pieces and design original books for distribution.
Culminating event: Students will have the chance to “launch” their book, sign copies, and distribute them to the public at the Adirondack Family Book Festival on Saturday, August 17 at John Brown Farm in Lake Placid.
Students in Adirondack Center for Writing’s week-long Story Publishing Camp will explore the fundamentals of narrative (characters, plot, setting, and more) and draft an original multi-page creative writing piece with the help of YA author Rebecca Donnelly. Students will then learn the technical skills to produce polished works of prose as well as design, lay-out, print, copy, and bind their own original book.
