Profile Writing with Annie Stoltie
October 19 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Adirondack Center for Writing (15 Broadway, Saranac Lake)
$15
In this 90-min workshop, Annie Stoltie (editor in chief of Adirondack Life) will teach participants how to approach a “profile” for magazine writing. The profile is a ‘portrait in words’, but how does a writer determine the angle, tone, and composition of that portrait? The class will cover how to identify and explore engaging angles on any human subject so that the profile is enlightening for the writer and rewarding for readers. Students will come away with new insights and best practices for profile writing.

Annie Stoltie is the editor in chief/co-publisher of Adirondack Life magazine, winner of the 2023 International Regional Magazine Association’s Magazine of the Year. She’s the author of the guidebook The Adirondacks (W. W. Norton).
