Improv for Scriptwriting
with Stephen Sheffer
August 1, 2024 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
The skills used to spontaneously create stories on the stage are also useful on the page! Join improviser, writer & actor Stephen Sheffer for a 2-hour workshop that uses improv exercises to tap into your creativity and get you saying “yes, and…” to your ideas! We will play together and then pull from what we’ve generated and put dialogue down on the page.
This program is a collaboration with Improv for Work & Wellness, where Stephen is Creative Director, and Pendragon Theater, which is presenting Stephen’s new play Lean-To as a reading this summer!
About Lean-To: Three Millennial-X souls meet at a rustic lean-to shelter and spend a night together in the woods. When the trio comes together around the warmth of a campfire, the spark that ignites between them becomes too hot to handle. The trio fragments but not before they experience the joy of authentic connection. It’s a story of three characters who are looking for their path – and explores the wild world around them & the wild world inside of them. Lean-To is being presented on Wednesday, August 7th at the Bluseed Pavilion.
More info TBD!
